Requirements

Images of any camera. The camera does not need to be calibrated
A rectification plane which is defined by using 3D points or distances of a square.

Accuracy

very high - high - medium – low

Automatic recognition of measurement errors

Not possible (measurement from only one photo)

Possible source of errors

Bad camera configuration
Rectification plane is not identical with the desired plane for restitution

Advantages

Very fast, Distortion correction gives normally very good results.
Sufficient accuracy for approx 75% of all measuring tasks

Intersection of 1 measurement beam with a spatial plane

Result

2D e.g. 2½D point.

Requirements

Oriented images from calibrated camera. The images could be orientated by ELCOVISION 10 or by the Leica Viva TS15 Spatial Plane (Easily defined in ELCOVISION 10)

Accuracy

very high - high - medium – low

Automatic recognition of measurement errors

Not possible (measurement from only one photo)

Possible source of errors

Undetected Measuring on the wrong plane

Advantages

Very fast.
Sufficient accuracy for approx 75% of all measuring tasks

Intersection of 2 measurement beams

Result

3D point.

Requirements

Oriented images from calibrated camera. The images could be orientated by ELCOVISION 10 or by the Leica Viva TS15

Accuracy

very high - high - medium – low

Automatic recognition of measurement errors

YES. The software computes accuracy for the measured 3D point. If level of accuracy is above an adjustable threshold ELCOVISION 10 displays a warning message.
